Leni Manaa-Hoppenworth (she/her) is a queer, Chicago-born daughter of Filipino immigrants. A lifelong dancer, she learned about the benefits of collaboration through the arts. She uses her talents as a dancer, photographer and community organizer to support opportunities that bring people together across identities such as race, class, ability and gender, to build safe, healthy and resilient communities that benefit us all. As a mother of three she is concerned about eliminating the false notion that environmental justice is an issue for the next generation to fix. Leni is a small business owner and health care professional who has lived in Andersonville with her husband, Michael, since 1999.
